Coffee grinder
Kettle

RECIPE

Dose: 30g coffee
Water: 500g
Grind: Coarse (similar to coarse sea salt)
Brew Time: 4 minutes

ABOUT FRENCH PRESS

French press brewing produces a full-bodied, textured cup. Because the coffee is fully immersed in water during extraction, it allows for a rich flavour and heavier mouthfeel compared to filter-style methods.

TIPS

If the coffee tastes overly bitter or heavy, try shortening the brew time slightly or grinding a little coarser.

If it tastes weak or under-extracted, grind slightly finer or increase the coffee dose.

Allowing the coffee to settle before plunging can help produce a cleaner cup.

METHOD

  1. Grind coffee to a coarse consistency, similar to coarse sea salt.
  2. Add 30g of coffee to the French press.
  3. Pour in 500g of hot water, ensuring all grounds are saturated.
  4. Let the coffee steep for 4 minutes.
  5. Gently press the plunger down and serve.
